How Traveling Inspires My Music

As a musician, traveling is more than just a change of scenery—it’s a source of endless inspiration. Every city, every landscape, and every culture brings something new to my music, whether it’s in the melodies I create, the lyrics I write, or the energy I bring to my performances.

The Sound of Different Places

Each place has its own unique rhythm. Walking through the busy streets of Milan, I can hear the pulse of the city in the footsteps of people rushing by, in the chatter at the cafés, in the distant hum of Vespas. These sounds often find their way into my music, influencing the beats and textures of my songs. In contrast, the calm serenity of the Swiss mountains inspires softer, more introspective melodies, reminding me to slow down and embrace simplicity.

Cultural Influences and New Perspectives

Music is universal, yet every culture expresses it differently. Spending time in Italy has deepened my appreciation for passionate, heartfelt storytelling in music. When I toured the US in 2022, I was captivated by the diversity of sounds. Traveling opens my ears to different genres and styles, some of which I bring back into my own creative process.

Lyrics Shaped by Experience

Many of my lyrics are born from the experiences I have on the road. Seeing new places, meeting new people, and stepping outside of my routine spark emotions and ideas I wouldn’t have otherwise. A simple sunset in Crete, a late-night conversation in a small Swiss town, or the energy of a bustling New York street can all turn into song lyrics. Travel pushes me to observe and feel deeply, which ultimately translates into my music.

The Energy of Live Performances

Playing in different locations also shapes how I connect with an audience. Performing in intimate venues in Italy feels different from a high-energy festival crowd in the US. Every place teaches me something new about stage presence, audience engagement, and even how I arrange my setlists. The diversity of people and their reactions fuel my passion for performing, making each show a unique experience.

Bringing It All Together

At the end of the day, traveling keeps my creativity alive. It challenges me, moves me, and reminds me why I love making music. Whether it’s a trip across the world or a simple change of scenery, each experience leaves a mark on my songs.
